Our Town

Saturday 5th September - Saturday 31st October

We were recently commissioned by Wigan Council and Curious Minds to develop the Wigan Arts Award. The Wigan Arts Award celebrates what it means to be from the town that brought the world Wigan Casino, Theodore Major, Gandalf and The Verve. We’ve come along way from Orwell’s cinder paths and slag heaps, and a new generation is celebrating it’s own heritage and culture.

To launch the Wigan Arts Award, we’re putting on an exhibition which will tell you all about Wigan’s cultural history, and inspire you to explore Wigan’s cultural landmarks. The show will feature some beautiful work by local photographer Martin Holden, who we commissioned to capture Wigan’s public art and cultural landmarks.

This project is connected with Wigan Council’s Our Town campaign. Find out more here.

We also created an online version of this exhibition - if you can't get down to visit in person, take a look here instead!
