Louise, Creative Director (she/her)
What do you do at Wigan STEAM?
“I’m responsible for overseeing everything we do as an organisation, from strategy, planning and writing funding bids, to developing creative projects and supporting artist development. I also support the delivery of our young people’s programme and ensure the team are happy in their jobs.”
What do you enjoy about working at Wigan STEAM?
“The thing that makes this job are the people. I get to work with and meet so many wonderful humans on a daily basis. It’s so rewarding knowing that we make a difference to people’s lives.”
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
“I enjoy cooking, going for long walks, crocheting, and playing games like Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda on my Nintendo Switch.”

What do you do at Wigan STEAM?
"I facilitate most of our workshops at Wigan STEAM which usually means I am covered in clay or paint!"
What do you enjoy about working at Wigan STEAM?
"I love meeting and working with all the people that come to STEAM, we’ve created a little creative family and I absolutely adore that."
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
"I like walking my very grumpy Jack Russell Poppy, swimming (outside is best) and eating really lovely food."

Steph, Creative Project Co-ordinator (she/her)
What do you do at Wigan STEAM?
“I help to create projects and to engage and network with the wider community. This includes our participants, stakeholders, facilitators and artists. I also in-house evaluate the projects that we do here at Wigan STEAM and facilitate Arts Award Bronze and Silver.”
What do you enjoy about working at Wigan STEAM?
“I enjoy working with the other members of staff, who are a joy to be around and of course our participants who come to Wigan STEAM for various workshops. I value being in a super creative environment and watching a project run from start to end.”
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
“I love walking!!! I walk everywhere, especially in summer. I enjoy reading, music, tv and socialising with friends. One of my hobbies is script writing so that is one thing I do really enjoy.”
Favourite Artist: My favourite Artist is Sarah Kane, who is a British playwright from the 90’s who created ‘In Yer Face’ Theatre.

Emily R, Marketing & Co-ordinator (she/her)
What do you do at Wigan STEAM?
“At Wigan STEAM I look after all of our social media platforms, website and mailing list and organise all of the content that is posted, as well as running our Republic of Wigan shop. You will probably find me taking photos of participants' lovely creations during workshops!”
What do you enjoy about working at Wigan STEAM?
“Working at Wigan STEAM has been so enjoyable because no two days are the same. We come into contact with such a range of people and run such a broad programme, it’s so much fun documenting all of the brilliant things we do every week on our social media. The team is also so passionate about everything they do it’s hard not to be inspired!”
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
“Outside of work I run my own small business called Swell Studio (@swell_studio), where I hand weave fabric on my loom and make it into my products. I also like to play games such as Animal Crossing on my Nintendo Switch and see live music.”
