Wigan STEAM is taking over Leigh Library and Wigan Library for a morning full of creative science, tech and fun! Join us at Leigh Library on Tuesday 5th April and Wigan Library on Tuesday 12th April.
For this year’s SteamFEST we’re welcoming a whole host of fab, tech savvy facilitators to bring you a day of family fun. Expect stalls full of digital wonders and a variety of workshops to spark your digital creativity!

Leigh Library Workshops
Recreating the lost lions of Lions Bridge
Join Photogrammertrist, Lee Robert McStein from Monument Men, as we learn all about the history of the lost lion statues of Lions Bridge and why it is important to the identity of Leigh as a town. Then, have the chance to decorate your very own 3D printed Lion using a technique called drybrushing, to takeaway at the end of the session!

Slime Making Workshop
In this workshop, learn how to create your very own vat of slimy slime using household products and colourful paint! But be warned: it can get messy!

Introduction to Beatboxing
Have a dance and make some noise as we learn and use the basics of beatboxing to tell a story with Renegrade Beatbox. Expect microphones, a loop station, speakers, story time and lots of silly sounds.

SteamFEST is free to attend. While the stalls run on a drop-in basis, workshops are booking only with limited tickets available! It is suitable for all ages but some workshops may have restrictions which are noted on the Eventbrite link. Children must be accompanied at all times!
